La Maison de Maitre
The Flavour of Roujan

Rent Gites in
the heart of a Languedocian Village

In the centre of Roujan, from the tranquility of the shaded courtyard at the rear of the property it is only a few minutes walk to the local shops, bars and restaurants. Whilst there is no longer a weekly market held in the village, most of the small local villages within a 5 minute drive still have a market day, and the village is host to several 2-3 day fetes during the holiday season. Typically this includes,

1st Sunday in April a large street fete.

July 14th Bastille night with Firework display and Lantern parade.

1st weekend in August - Village Fete -Music and dancing over 3 nights.

Visits to the local circulades (fortified villages) are recommended for those with a sense of local history and for those with an interest in the crusades a day trip to the Larzac plateau to follow the circuit of the Knights Templar with a visit to La Couvertoirade will bring history to life. The area is also ideally suited for those families with the need to entertain the younger element with a wide range of differing activities

Pezenas

Montpellier (40min) and Bezier (30min) are within easy reach and offer the diverse range of facilities associated with larger towns.
